The film consists of four short stories based on women emancipation and also stars Konkona Sen and Shahana Goswami apart from Raima. As everyone knows, all the three leading ladies share the Bong connection.
Raima will be starring in two of these short stories opposite Shreyas Talpade
and Rajpal Yadav respectively. What makes this film special for Raima is that it’s being directed by National award winner Vinay Shukla, who also happens to be the director of her debut film Godmother.
Says Raima, “Working with Vinay was a complete pleasure. And due to the excellent camaraderie between all the actresses, there was tremendous comfort on the sets which made shooting for Mirch even more enjoyable.”
Well, as far as the word goes, the Bong connection has surely worked wonders for Raima who looks a stunner and carries the role with quite an elan.
Looks like these three Bong beauties will surely heat up the screen with Mirch.
Anne turns guitarist for beau
Bride Wars star Anne Hathaway has taken to the Internet to teach herself how to play the guitar so that she can serenade her boyfriend, actor Adam Shulman. Using video tutorials online, the actress learnt to play The Beatles’ 1968 song Blackbird as a
special birthday present for her new love, who turned 28 on April 2.
“For my boyfriend’s birthday I learned how to play a song for him. I’d never heard the song before and he played it for me. It’s The Beatles’ song Blackbird.
So I studied it for a while and learned how to play it,” she said. The 26-year-old beauty showed off her limited guitar skills on the American television when comedian/presenter Jimmy Fallon asked her to play something for the audience on his Late Night programme.
“I know how to play two songs, Blackbird and this is the other song. I learned this off the Internet, literally learned from YouTube lessons on how to play the guitar. Since I am almost done with the first song, I learned this song. I got the chords online but I’m not very good at it,” she added.
Shibani goes musical
Singer-composer Shibani Kashyap has gone multi-lingual by crooning a number for the Bengali musical Pa Ma Ga Re Sa. It is set to the beat of a Salsa dance. Shibani, known for songs like Sajna Aa Bhi Ja and Zinda Hoon Main, won director Surojit Ghosh’s heart with her distinct voice and quick learning ability, said a source. Pa Ma Ga Re Sa stars Rohit Roy, Gauri Karnik and Reshmi Ghosh in the lead, and is a musical based on Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Abhimaan, which was a huge hit in 1971.
Britney grew up amidst violence
Britney Spears, who grew up to become a pop diva, had a tough and violent childhood, says her uncle. Britney witnessed her father Jamie Spears regularly flying into drunken rages at their family home when she was a small child, quoted Willie Spears, who
is her father’s brother, as saying.
Willie said the erratic behaviour of Jamie, who sought treatment for his problems with alcohol in 2004, became a normal part of his niece’s (Britney) childhood.
“Once Jamie was drunk and tried to drive off with Britney in the car. She was merely five years old then. I tried to stop him, so I reached into the truck to grab the keys from the ignition and he punched me. We got right into it there by the car, fighting in front of her,” said Willie.
The story behind ‘Illuminati’
Not many people know that Saif Ali Khan is a huge fan of the Hollywood legend, Clint Eastwood. Saif loves all his movies and is quite fascinated with his work. Besides, Saif’s favourite movie is Clint’s The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Says a source, “Once Saif was reading an interview of Clint’s, where Clint mentioned that he was planning to start a production house.
That’s when Clint’s friend told him Mal Paso, which means a bad step in Spanish. Clint thought a lot about it and one day, he woke up and decided to be a producer. Later, he launched Mal Paso Production.
When Saif read this, he was quite inspired by it. He was shooting outdoors and the next thing everyone knew, in the middle of the night he called up Dinesh Vijan and told him about the whole idea of launching a production house. Saif had worked with Dinesh during his movie Being Cyrus, and that's when they had become good friends.”
But how did the name Illuminati Films come about? Says a source close to Saif, “Saif is fond of reading Dan Brown’s novels. Once when he was reading Angels and Demons, he came across the word Illuminati which means ‘from darkness to light’.
And the very next moment, he called up Dinesh and told him to name their company Illuminati Films because he wanted to make enlightening cinema. That’s when both of them said to each other, Mal Paso- Mal Paso,” laughs the source. Now Illuminati Films is ready with its first movie Love Aaj Kal, which is directed Imtiaz Ali, who is known for writing beautiful love stories. The movie is making lot of media rounds already and the audiences are eagerly awaiting it.
