Bengaluru: An email warning of a bomb blast sent to a luxury hotel in Bengaluru turned out to be a hoax threat, police officials said Thursday.

The email was received by The Oterra Hotel in Electronics City at 2:34:52 am on Thursday with the subject "Ammonium Nitrate based Improvised EDs in the listed Hotels for 'Holy Thursday'. Evacuate floors". 

The email was sent by daudee_s_jiwal@outlook.com. DH has reviewed a copy of the email. 

"My father DGP Sankar Jiwal IPS has colluded with ISI Pakistan-DMK cells in Coimpattur (sic) to carry out a distraction operation to divert attention from the Jaffer Sadiq DMK Drug scandal from the DMK first family. Hence such diversion blasts in Banks are planned. 

"Please evacuate the premises by 2:30 PM or earlier to and call te (sic) BDSS and as soon as possible. Kindly all call at the same time as some person in the BDSS are under my dad's supervison. We dont want the blood in our family's hands! Please ACT.. Don't REACT,” the email read. 

Director General of Police Jiwal, whose name was mentioned in the email, is the head of the Tamil Nadu police. 

Soon after checking the email on Thursday morning, the hotel staff alerted the police. A bomb squad and other personnel reached the hotel afterwards. The threat was declared a hoax after a thorough sweep, police said. 

The email was also sent to reservations@ihcltata.com, reservations@oberoigroup.com, generalmanager.delhi@oberoihotels.com, clubhouse.chennai@tajhotels.com and epe@pec.org.pk (Pakistan Engineering Council - PEC). 

Last week, hoax bomb threats were made to eight schools as well as a hospital chain in Bengaluru.
