The book stemmed from the author’s 2008 television series of the same name on NDTV. It documents eight broad conversations between top business and social leaders about topics such as food, energy and transportation in India.
At the book’s launch here on Thursday, a conversation between Omidyar Network India Advisors managing director Jayant Sinha and 2011 Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Harish Hande was moderated by the author.
Sinha said that he had incredible optimism about India, where there was a terrific people’s movement and people cherished their vote.
He also added Indian entrepreneurs were fantastic and he was incredibly excited about India.
Hande spoke of his work as a social entrepreneur in founding Selco India, a solar electric light company, and the financial difficulties in maintaining the business. He said India had the potential to be the beacon of life in Africa.
