Rtn Vijay Kumar said participants traversed across a distance of 12.5 km in groups of five. “The fun rally was organised to promote bicycle-riding as a good alternative to fuel-driven vehicles. It also encourages physical fitness, besides conserving nature and preserving the planet for future generations” said Kumar.
Rtn Vivek Prabhu, event co-ordinator said the youngest of the participants, all of six years old rode for seven km. Kannada cine actor Bhavana flagged-off the event near Saklavara Village. The cyclothon went up to Bannerghatta National Park.
BSA had provided 60 geared cycles for the event that was organised by Rotary Bangalore District 3190.
