Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) conducted a special drive against illegal parking, no-entry violations, footpath riding, and riding against one-way from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday.

They collected Rs 7.62 lakh in fines after filing 1,507 cases. No entry accounted for 722 cases and riding against one-way accounted for 590 cases, totalling 1,312 cases, and making up 87 per cent of the cases. 

The penalty kitty

  • Illegal parking: 127 cases, Rs 64,500 fine

  • No entry: 722 cases, Rs 3,66,500 fine

  • Riding on footpath: 68 cases, Rs 34,000 fine

  • Riding against one-way: 590 cases, Rs 2,97,000 fine
