Scorching the small screen

Kichcha Sudeep is not far behind in joining the bandwagon of stars from Sandalwood who have signed up to host several reality shows.

The show titled Pyate Hudgeer Halli Lifu (City girls 'village life) traces how City born and bred girls adapt to a village setting. Designed on the lines of Big Boss, Sudeep will turn up once a week to seal the fate of the contestants.

The actor confesses that he always wanted to try out different things. His work got a wee bit monotonous and he’d thought something new would stir up his creativity. Sudeep says he’s willing to squeeze in time to appear on the small screen. “I have never considered time as a constraint for any new venture. I am busy with my projects but honestly I found my work a little monotonous. It was at such a time that I was offered this show. The concept is quite interesting and I didn’t think twice before agreeing,” he gushes.

Sudeep has umpteen projects pouring his way. And his successful innings in Bollywood has added to his popularity. When he is all over the big screen, why this sudden love for the small screen? “Trying out new things is in my blood. I took up direction when I was in demand as a hero. I have never bothered about the size of the screen. It must fire my creative instincts. The show will take place in real locations not on artificial sets and it will portray the village life in its true spirit. It may be difficult to adapt to a village life but once you get a feel of it, you’d never want to abandon it,” he observes.

The reality show and its idea to shoot in a village has given Sudeep a chance to hop into his native place every week. “I spent a large part of my childhood in Shimoga. The location of the show, Puradalu is just a 13 kilometres away from there. This is also one of the reasons why I signed the project. I can easily connect with the participants and the audience,” he beams. Pyate Hudgeer Halli Lifu is aired on Suvarna Channel at 7 pm.
