Popular comedian-cum-actor Komal is all set to bring in shades of Charlie Chaplin on screen for his latest film Lift Kodla. Komal says, “I can never re-create the Chaplin magic but for my role in the film, I have tried to bring in at least point five per cent of the legendary comedian on screen.”
Lift Kodla revolves around two parallel stories, where Komal plays the role of a youngster who feels he has failed in life and lost all hope. He even tries to attempt suicide. “The film has philosophical humour to it. Which was a challenge as at times it can get one emotionally charged. There have been many instances where I have actually got thinking about life very seriously,” he adds.
The film also stars Komal’s brother Jaggesh. Though the duo has worked together in over 15 films, Komal says that each time, it has been a special one.
“We have always been close and each time I have worked with Jaggesh, I have learnt so much. Lift Kodla is also different as we are showcasing two different stories that run parallel,” he says. So do these tracks ever cross in the film? “For that, we will have to watch the movie,” he signs off.
