Siddaganga seer Shivakumara Swami (111) was airlifted to Chennai on Friday. He was brought from the Siddaganga Mutt, Tumakuru by road to HAL airport in Bengaluru.
He reached Chennai Airport and expected to go to Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre by road through a green corridor. He will undergo treatment for his recurring liver tube infection at the Chennai hospital.
A decision to airlift him was taken on Thursday by a team of doctors from Bengaluru and Chennai after he fell ill. The seer has undergone a procedure on Saturday where in stents were implanted to his liver tube.
However, he is frequently developing infection with symptoms of fever ever since he underwent stent implantation for the first time in 2016. Despite the age, the seer maintains a healthy lifestyle with no complaints of hypertension or diabetes, but has issues only with his liver.
