The Bangalore chapter of FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), will be hosting a talk on ‘Handloom as a Green Industry’, on September 9 at Bangalore International Centre, TERI Complex, Domlur II Stage.

FLO is the women’s wing of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). It has been promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence among women through workshops, seminars, conferences, training and capacity building programmes.

The Bangalore Chapter is headed by chairperson Lakshmi Eswaran and this event will see Jaya Jaitly and Uzramma talk on ‘Handloom as a Green Industry’.

The programme will include a panel discussion and presentation, audience engagement – demonstration, followed by question and answer and sale of Dastkaari Haat Samhiti and Malkha products.

Jaya Jaitly is the founder of Dastkari Haat Samiti (Dilli Haat), that was founded in 1986, to enable rural artisans of traditional Indian crafts to gain confidence in the marketplace. Uzramma initiated the Dastkar Andhra Trust in 1995 to provide research and marketing services to the cotton handloom industry of Andhra Pradesh, and natural dyeing training to artisan groups.
