The show, which will bring exhibitors and other stakeholders from across the globe to showcase the best in aviation technology and products under one roof, will see the State roll out the red carpet for industries.

Although the State has hosted all the seven previous editions of the show this will be the first time it will have a stall –– at Hangar ‘B’ –– too woo investors to invest in the 900-acre aerospace park of which 254 acres will be dedicated special economic zone (SEZ).

Briefing reporters, Commerce and Industry Department Commissioner Raj Kumar Khatri said: “We will be meeting two delegates, with representatives from over 35 different companies.”

The one-on-ones include meetings with Professor Richards, Wolver Hampton University, UK and Major Patel, Head, Economic Development, City Council, Wolver Hampton; Alexey Fedorow, President, United Aircraft Corportation, Moscow, Russia; Jagmohan Singh, Director (Maritime & Missile Systems) Lockheed Martin India Private Limited; French aerospace industries Flanders and GIFAS; Rolls-Royce India President Anil Shrikhande; and Honeywell Technology Lab President Krishna Mikkilineni.

This is seen as a major platform for the State which is witnessing huge competition from the neighbouring Hyderabad in attracting capital.

The Tatas who were in talks with the State have decided to set up shop in the aerospace park in Hyderabad now. Karnataka just about managed to get the Mahindras, who were also eyeing a slot in Hyderabad, to set up a centre in Kolar.
