Trying new things comes easily for actor Suraj Gowda. Take any of his movies and he will be seen portraying an entirely different role in it. He is excited about a cameo role in ‘Daughter of Parvathamma’, which is also Harripriya’s 25th film. In a candid chat with Tini Sara Anien, he talks about her role in the film and more.
Tell us about your role in ‘Daughter of Parvathamma’.
I play an extended cameo in the film. I play Shastry, the love interest of Harripriya and a college student who hails from a Brahmin family, which is shown as a flashback. I am almost done with the shoot and looking forward to how the audience will react to me.
Are you excited to be a part of this project?
There are multiple reasons, I am super-thrilled about this project. The film which is directed by Shankar is a special movie for Harripriya and I am glad to be in it. Also, my role gives a significant twist to the script.
Did you have to do any homework for this role?
(Smiles) I have to look like a college boy, which I did not have to work much on.
You’ve always played lead roles. Are you alright doing cameo roles?
This is the first time I am playing a cameo but the project is worth it. It was an interesting role and I think when the role is justified, the screentime does not come into consideration. My character plays a pivotal role and changes the course of the story.
What about Harripriya is most impressive?
Her outstanding performance with her natural style of acting is what makes her stand apart. She does each role with a lot of ease.
Something you have picked up from her...
She does things effortlessly and I am trying to be like that.
What else is happening at your end?
The second schedule of ‘Amar Chitra Katha’ starts soon. The film is a thriller and a mass-film. This is the first time people will see me in an aggressive avatar. I am in a happy space as I am trying different things and not limiting myself as an artiste. I will also be seen in a new project which is about live-in relationships, which will be a first-of-its-kind. It will be a new experience for me.
You are an actor with no fixed patterns. What is something new you want to try?
I want to do a biopic. Something on those lines should happen by next year. I have my fingers crossed and am pretty positive about it. This movie will be a gamechanger.
