A press release issued by the Ministry of Defence states that all medically fit candidates in the age group of 18 to 42, with a minimum height, chest and weight of 160 cm, 77 cm and 50 kg respectively are eligible to apply.
Candidates, who have passed class 10 with at least 45 per cent marks are eligible for soldier general duty (14 vacancies) and those who have passed class eight can apply for tradesman duties (one vacancy).
All candidates must be domicile of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Lakshdweep or Pondicherry.
Those who are employed in government, semi-government, private sector or self-employed are also eligible for the recruitment, but should produce NOC from their employer.
Candidates should report at 106 Infantry Battalion (TA) PARA , Inder Gill Lines, Benson Town at 6 am on August 16. They should bring their original education certificate along with photocopies verified by education officer / gazetted officer of their area, 12 copies of passport size photograph, caste certificate, character certificate and ration card/voter identity card.
