The Tilak Nagar police station in southern Bengaluru got a renovated building on Monday.

Speaking after the inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said police personnel would be trained in soft skills so that people feel comfortable in approaching them with their grievances. He expressed concern that solving cybercrimes had become a challenge but hoped that the Infosys Foundation's monetary assistance — Rs 22 crore for buying electronic gadgets and crime-detection equipment — would come handy.

The Infosys Foundation also provided Rs 65 lakh for the renovation of the Tilak Nagar police station. The building has floor tiles, a new lock-up, a dormitory, toilets, a borewell and a compound wall. The office of the Mico Layout ACP, located on the same premises, has also been renovated.
