A container truck caught fire while transporting household material belonging to an Army officer near Bommanahalli Junction on Tuesday morning.
Police said the driver of the vehicle, which was coming from Delhi, noticed smoke from the engine, around 7 am. He stopped the vehicle and found that the engine had caught fire.
The Fire and Emergency Service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The driver informed that the goods belonged to Mukund, an Army official, who was transferred to Bengaluru from Delhi. It is suspected that a short circuit could have led to the incident. The vehicle has been sent for examination to ascertain the cause for fire.
