According to the Yelahanka traffic police, the collision occurred between 11:20 pm and 11:25 pm near the Legacy Cirocco apartments, Jakkur.

An officer said that the crash was not a chain collision but an act of negligence on the part of the drivers. A cement bulker truck (KA 01 AB 2794) crashed into the back of a Toyota Innova car, damaging the chassis. This supposedly led to a heated altercation between the two drivers, who stepped out of their vehicles in the middle of the road in front of the lorry.

At the same time, a speeding BMTC Volvo bus (KA 57 F 2392) going towards the airport, crashed into the bulker lorry, which jerked forward on impact and ran over the two drivers.

The lorry driver, Kuldip Kumar (42), sustained serious injuries and died on the spot while the Innova car driver, Jagadish (40), died in a nearby hospital.

As of Tuesday morning, police are filing an FIR to take necessary action against the bus driver.
