Upset with the lackadaisical attitude of the State government, actor Bharati Vishnuvardhan is planning to shift her late actor husband Vishnuvardhan’s memorial located at Abhiman Studio in Bangalore to Mysore.

Addressing reporters on Saturday, she said three years have passed since the death of Vishnuvardhan. But the work on the construction of a memorial at the studio has not commenced. Hence, there is no meaning in waiting for the government's response. About five acres of land is required for the project. Abhiman Studio ownership issue is pending in court. The government was requested to allot a piece of land elsewhere for the purpose. But there has been no reply. If it fails to respond by September 18, the decision on shifting the memorial will be taken.

Reacting to Bharati’s statement, actor and Housing Minister Ambareesh said late actor Balakrishna’s daughter is not willing to part with the land to take up the construction of the memorial. The issue will be discussed with chief minister.
