Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Transport Minister R Ashoka said the BMTC had netted a profit of Rs 50.35 crore, while the KSRTC’s share of profit is Rs 65 crore.
Stating that the two corporations have wiped off accumulated loss and have posted profit, he said the money will be utilised for providing infrastructure like bus terminals and more buses.
Elaborating on some of the proposed bus terminus, he said one terminus will be constructed near Bengaluru International Airport at Devanahalli.
“ We have procured two acre and 23 guntas of land there. We have already paid Rs 2.25 crore. The bus terminus will also host a hotel to cater to the travellers who come in the middle of the night and plan to leave in the morning by flight,” he said.
However, he did not reveal the cost of the project.
