It was a state of confusion at the KR Hospital here as the staff struggled to treat the victims of 'poisoning' from Sulvadi in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district. There was no proper count of the patients being brought in.

Ambulances brought victims to the premises of the KR Hospital one after the other. The staff were seen putting them on the stretcher and shifting them to the emergency and other available wards. The victims, whose condition was critical, were shifted to the BGS Apollo Hospital, JSS Hospital and Shanthaveri Gopalgowda Hospital, as there was a shortage of ventilators at the KR Hospital.

The relatives of some of the victims were left helpless as the doctors and the staff were not in a position to answer their queries. Some of the relatives were weeping inconsolably. A total of 25 ambulances were pressed into service. Yet, there seemed to be a shortage of ambulances.

As onlookers gathered on the hospital premises, the police had a difficult time in regulating the traffic.
