For the first time, the Mysuru zone of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has organised a two-day Higher Education Summit on Friday and Saturday at Hotel Radisson Blu in the city.
The theme for the first edition of the Summit is ‘Innovation in Education for a Competent Industry’. D Sudhanva, MD of Excelsoft Technologies, will be the summit chairman while Bharat Ratna scientist C N R Rao will deliver the keynote address.
CII-Karnataka chairman N Muthukumar and adviser to JSS Mahavidyapeetha M H Dhananjaya will deliver a special address and former minister B K Chandrasekhar will deliver the inaugural address.
The summit will deliberate on the role of innovation in various verticals of the education sector, necessary changes required in the education delivery system and the kind of policy support expected while factoring industry perspective.
The summit will have four sessions: Innovation in Higher Education; Changes in Policy and Education Delivery Infrastructure; Science and Technology, Engineering and Medical Education and Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Management Education.
B Suresh, vice-chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER), will deliver the keynote address in the session on ‘Innovation in Higher Education’, while head of Global Education Centre of Infosys B M Subraya will be the chairman. G Hemantha Kumar, vice-chancellor of University of Mysore and others will speak on various topics.
Dr R Balasubramaniam, founder of GRAAM, will deliver the keynote address in the session on ‘Changes in Policy and Education Delivery Infrastructure’. Chairman of Fortis Hospitals Dr Vivek Jawali will deliver the keynote address-2.
K Balaveera Reddy, VTU former VC, will deliver the keynote address during the inaugural session on Saturday.
DC Abhiram G Sankar and Additional Chief Secretary for Science and Technology Jayakumar will take part. S Sadagopan, Director of IIITB, will deliver the keynote address during the session on ‘Science and Technology, Engineering and Medical Education’. L Rajanikanth, co-founder of Prepmyskills Services, will deliver the keynote address during the session on ‘Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Management Education’.
Industry heads, HR and placement officers, principals, management heads, department heads and faculties from colleges are expected to attend the event.
