The state government has decided to extend Chief Secretary
K Ratna Prabha’s tenure by three months and, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has written to the Centre seeking approval for the same.
The government has decided to extend Ratna Prabha’s tenure till September 2018. She is already on an extension, which ends June 30.
“There are several important issues of governance and administration that need to
be dealt with by the newly formed government. At this formative stage of the new government, an officer of her
calibre and experience is necessary to assist the government,” Kumaraswamy stated in a letter to the Centre on Monday.
Kumaraswamy has requested the Centre to approve Ratna Prabha’s extension with effect from July 1, 2018.
