Congress leader hacked to death in Belagavi

Belagavi: A Congress leader was hacked to death after being assaulted by group of about six to seven masked persons at Khilegaon village in Athani taluk on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has has been identified as 58-year-old Annappa Basappa Nimbal. He was Chairman of PKPS, Khilegaon.

According to the Athani police, a group of about six to seven persons attacked Nimbal with sharp weapons and murdered him.

Police are further investigating the case.
