The Kerala-Karnataka Relief Fund was set up by The Printers (Mysore) Pvt Ltd, publishers of Deccan Herald and Prajavani.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday commended the readers of Deccan Herald and Prajavani for contributing liberally towards the state’s flood relief measures.

The chief minister said the amount raised by the two leading dailies of Karnataka would go a long way in rebuilding parts of the state affected by the devastating floods.

Vijayan was speaking after Deccan Herald Deputy Editor B S Arun handed him over a cheque for Rs 1.36 crore raised by the Deccan Herald and Prajavani Relief Trust through its Kerala-Karnataka Flood Relief Fund.

Deccan Herald-Prajavani had last week presented a cheque for Rs 46.46 lakh to Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy towards relief measures in Kodagu district, which was also affected by flood fury.
