The state government has appointed Dr K S Ravindranath, former chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences, as the incharge director of the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICR).
The post fell vacant after Dr C N Manjunath, who served as director for 16 years, retired on Wednesday.
Dr Ravindranath also serves as a senior consultant (contract basis) for the SJICR and is a professor in the cardiology department of the institute.
