Causing an embarrassment to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, rebel politics in the district JD(S) erupted before him during his visit to Kodagu district on Thursday.
When the chief minister was at Kushalnagar Inspection Bungalow, a group of JD(S) workers, led by Karmad Subbanna, gathered at the spot and started raising slogans against JD(S) District President Sanket Poovaiah seeking his removal from the
position.
Poovaiah had entered into an illicit agreement with BJP to defeat JD(S) party, they charged. However, Kumaraswamy did not respond to
this.
The situation turned tense when a heated debate, between JD(S) Madikeri Block President Suresh and Organising Secretary C V Nagesh, turned into a physical confrontation. Both hurled abuses against each other.
Some workers openly expressed disappointment before former minister B A Jeevijaya who was there.
