The BJP has decided to launch a state-wide protest from June 30 against the ‘failure’ of the state government to announce farm loan waiver and prevent suicide of farmers.
The protest will be organised by BJP’s Raitha Morcha from June 30 to July 15 in all the 224 Assembly constituencies. BJP state president
B S Yeddyurappa has formed six teams of leaders to stage protests in all regions of the state. The teams will also hold interact with farmers in all regions, BJP sources said.
The BJP has been mounting pressure on the H D Kumaraswamy government to announce complete farm loan waiver, including those availed of by farmers from nationalised banks. Chief Minister
H D Kumaraswamy has been maintaining that he is working on the scheme and that it will be announced shortly.
Show-cause notice
The BJP has issued a show-cause notice to Bengaluru’s Byrasandra ward corporator N Nagaraj for anti-party activities. The BJP corporator had campaigned in favour of the Congress in the recently held elections to Jayanagar Assembly constituency, leading to the saffron party’s defeat. Nagaraj has been given seven days to reply to the notice.
