'Farmers key to survival of credit co-operative societies'

He was speaking after disbursing loan cheques to 43 entitled persons at Chikkapalyagurki in Chikkaballapur taluk on Saturday.

The event was organised by Vyavasaya Seva Sahakara Sangha which comes under the purview of Kolar-Chikkaballapur DCC Bank.

As many as 43 farmers from 43 villages which come under bank’s purview were disbursed cheques amounting to Rs 19 lakh.

Narayana Reddy said that farmers should utilise the money and should repay the debt within the exact time period. Sangha’s Secretary M R Narayanaswamy said that only when the farmers who had already borrowed the loan repayed the amount that other farmers could be extended loan facility. This is also key for survival of a credit co-operative societies, he added.

Administration Board’s G V Aavulakondarayappa, Sathyanarayana, Jalarappa, Venugopal Reddy, Venkateshappa, Parvatamma, Muniyappa and others were present on the occasion.
