FIR against Somanna, Yeddyurappa

Judge Sudhindra Rao handed over the probe to the Superintendent of Lokayukta Police, Bangalore Urban, on November 22 and directed him to submit the final report of investigation on December 26. Yeddyurappa is accused no. 1, Somanna’s wife Shylaja is accused no. 2, Somanna is accused no. 3 and Lingaiah, the original land owner, is accused no. 4.

A private complaint had been lodged by software engineer Ravi Krishna Reddy, alleging that 22 guntas of land at Nagadevanahalli in Kengeri hobli had been transferred to the name of Somanna’s wife Shylaja and subsequently, this land was denotified by Yeddyurappa in 2009.

Upper Bhadra probe

The Lokayukta police on Saturday submitted a status report on the investigations into allegations of irregularities in the awarding of tender for works in the Upper Bhadra Project.

The investigation was handed over to the Lokayukta police on August 8, 2011, after JD(S) leader Y S V Datta filed a private complaint alleging that B S Yeddyurappa, during his tenure as chief minister, had favoured the joint venture firm - RNS Infrastructure-Jyothi - to execute the project, even though the price quoted by it was on the higher side.

The Lokayukta police sought another six to eight weeks time to submit the final report, as more than 200 documents have to be scrutinised. The Court has posted the matter to December 19.

Complaint by post

The Special Lokayukta Court has received a private complaint through post on Friday against Yelahanka MLA Vishwanath S R. The complainant V Shashidhar, a resident of Judicial Layout, has accused the MLA of offences under Prevention of Corruption Act.
Judge N K Sudhindra Rao has directed the complainant to be present in the Court on December 7.
