Four children drown in lake in Hassan

The four children, who had a holiday from school, had gone to swim in the lake, when the tragedy occurred.

Hassan: Four children died from drowning when they went to swim in a lake in their village at Alur taluk in Hassan district, on Thursday. They got stuck in the slush and died, the police said.

The deceased have been identified as Swathik (13), Jeevan (13) Vishwas (13) and Prithviraj (14), said the police.

Swathik came to his grandparents house in Muthigepura for summer holidays. He had lost his father two months ago.

All four are from the families of labourers. Vishwas is the son of Asha worker Pushpalatha.
