A magistrate court in Bengaluru remanded JD(S) MLA, HD Revanna, in seven days of judicial custody on Wednesday.
The SIT produced Revanna before the 17th ACMM court in Bengaluru at the end of his four-day police custody.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the magistrate sent Revanna to judicial custody until May 14.
Revanna, who represents Holenarasipura in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 4 for kidnapping a victim who was linked to the Hassan sex abuse case.
On May 2, the son of an elderly woman from KR Nagar, Mysuru district, filed a complaint, stating that Revannua orchestrated her kidnapping through his associate Satish Babanna.
The SIT arrested Babanna on May 3 and rescued the woman from a farmhouse in Mysuru’s Hunsur taluk on May 4. Hours later, the SIT arrested Revanna from his father's residence in Bengaluru’s Padmanabhanagar.
Meanwhile, the special court for public representatives in Bengaluru postponed the hearing on Revanna's bail application to May 9.
