Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy fumed at the electronic media, observing that “electronic media has given so much publicity to our opponent candidate in Mandya, which was not accorded to even the prime minister of the country”.
Kumaraswamy, whio arrived by a helicopter on Thursday, was speaking to media persons at Dombarkoppa village in Kittur taluk. Unlike print media, the television media has given unprecedented publicity to the rival independent candidate who is contesting against his son Nikhil, the chief minister said.
However, Kumarswamy expressed confidence that his son would win by a margin of 2 lakh to 3 lakh votes. He said the coalition candidates would win 10-12 seats among the 14 Loka Sabha seats which went to polls in the state today.
He later addressed an election meeting in favor of coalition candidate Anand Asnotikar, contesting from Uttar Kannada Lok Sabha Seat at MK Hubli in Kittur taluk. Congress MLA Mahantesh Koujalagi, JD(S) leader N H Konraddi and senior JD(S) leader MLC Basavaraj Horatti were present. Earlier, election officials inspected the CM’s helicopter. They checked three to four bags which were in the helicopter.
