Singh said that there was a necessity to inquire into the complaint lodged by residents of Aligadda, lawyer K R Desai, Vijaykumar Patil and Saroja Gowda, to Lokayukta alleging that rocks were being blasted in the forest area and manganese ore was being transported.
Primary investigation has been conducted and notices will be issued to the officials of Mines and Geology, Harbour Department, Pollution Control Board and the deputy commissioner, he said.
He also inspected several houses, which have developed cracks following the blasts by using gelatin sticks.
