Janata Dal(Secular) workers took out a motorbike rally from Hassan to Arsikere as part of Janandolana (People’s movement), on Saturday.

The rally also welcomed JD(S) national President and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, who arrived to participate in the event.

MLA H D Revanna flagged off the rally at N R Circle. However, despite repeated pleas from party workers, Revanna refused to ride the two-wheeler during the rally.

Talking to media persons, Revanna said Janandolana is being organised to tell people about rise in corruption after the BJP came to power in the State three years ago.

Pointing out that the rally wasn’t only restricted to JD(S) alone, he said that more than 5,000 people of the district will participate in the grand finale to be held in Shimoga on Monday.

He said that even though no travel arrangements have been made by the party, people are voluntarily participating.

Refuting B S Yeddyurappa's claim that Janandolana has been undertaken to establish JD(S) entity in the State, Revanna advised  the former to stop worrying about JD(S).

He said political pundits had earlier declared that Deve Gowda’s time in politics had finished, but the party came to power at that time too. He said that the chief minister’s statements was aimed at only to save his  chair.

District Unit President H K Javaregowda said that Yeddyurappa was neck-deep in corruption. Due to rampant corruption, they were unable to face the people, he added.

He demanded the resignation of CM on moral grounds due to pending cases against him in the court.

Revanna said people of the State are aware of corruption and are fed up with the BJP led government. There is no doubt that a revolution would take place in the State soon, he added.

Hassan MLA H S Prakash, Sakleshpur MLA H K Kumaraswamy, former MLA Karigowda, JD(S) District Unit President H K Javaregowda and others set out on the vehicles for the rally.
