The Jarkiholi brothers have warned the Congress of resorting to “harsh decisions,” if Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar did not stop “interfering in Belagavi district politics in support of party MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar.

Belagavi district in-charge minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who met former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday, is reported to have complained to him about Shivakumar’s “meddling” in the ongoing skirmish between him and Lakshmi.

He is said to have told Siddaramaiah that he would resort to “drastic steps” if the party failed to address his concerns. It is rumoured that Ramesh and a few other Congress MLAs are already in talks with the BJP to overthrow the coalition government. Assuring Jarkiholi to resolve the issue, Siddaramaiah is learnt to have told him not to take any hasty decision.

The Jarkiholi brothers and Hebbalkar have been at loggerheads over elections to posts of office-bearers of the Primary Land Development Bank. Shivakumar’s entry into the scene has not gone down well with the brothers.
