Former minister and senior Congress leader T B Jayachandra is the new addition to the long list of aspirants for the KPCC president’s post. “I am an aspirant for the KPCC president’s post. I will handle the role responsibly,” he told reporters in Tumakuru on Saturday.
“I joined the Congress party and became an MLA at a very young age. All these years, I’ve served the party loyally as a legislator and minister,” he said.
“I’ve already discussed my intentions with KPCC president G Parameshwara, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka
K C Venugopal. I will soon meet the party high command in this regard,” Jayachandra said.
Replying to a question, he said: “I don’t know what prompted Chief Minister
H D Kumaraswamy to state that he will surely be the chief minister for one year. The Congress leaders will discuss the issue with Kumaraswamy.”
