The state budget for 2021-22 will be presented in the first week of March, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said Wednesday.
The chief minister was speaking to media persons at Vidhana Soudha, after paying respects to former CM Kengal Hanumanthaiah on his 113th birth anniversary.
He said that the budget would be presented in the first week of March, but the exact date would be decided shortly. “The pre-budget meetings which are underway will be completed within a week’s time,” he said. On Wednesday, Yediyurappa held a series of pre-budget meetings with various departments.
As for the growing reservation demands from different communities in Karnataka, Yediyurappa said that he would make all efforts permissible within the constitutional framework to meet these demands.
“I will consult legal experts on the issue. We will implement whatever the law permits us to,” he assured.
