Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan on Saturday requested Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to hand over 750 acres of defence land in Belagavi to set up a software technology park.

Since the said land is close to NH-8 in Belagavi, it is ideal for a software park, the DCM is reported to have told Singh.

With Belagavi being an education hub, it would be good to set up such a park there, said a statement.
