Traditional methods of healing such as Ayurveda, practised in the country, is much in demand in foreign nations. Germany has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Karnataka to send Ayurvedic doctors from the state to the country.
Germany is also keen in funding research of Ayush medicinal techniques, said Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U T Khader, here on Monday. This will be a major boost for graduates who are pursuing studies in Ayush medicine, the minister said.
He was speaking after inaugurating a Ayush clinic for mahouts and kaavadis at Amba Vilas Palace premises. The facility set up at the Palace premises will be open till October 23.
Khader said that the facility was of importance as it was necessary to take care of mahouts, kaavadis and their families, as they play a vital role in the celebration of Dasara in the city.
The clinic will offer Ayush medicinal techniques such as Panchakarma and other herbal therapies free for families of mahouts and kaavadis lodged at the Palace premises.
