Science and Technology Minister N S Boseraju, former chief minister Jagadish Shettar and Congress leader Tippannappa Kamaknoor took oath as MLCs on Monday.

Legislative Council Chairperson Basavaraj Horatti administered the oath to these newly elected members.

Boseraju and Shettar took oath in the name of God, while Kamaknoor took oath in the name of Yanagundi Manikeshwari Maata of Kalaburagi. The new MLCs were elected unopposed.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil and RDPR Minister Priyank Kharge were present.

Boseraju will be the leader of the House in Council, while Shettar is tipped to be the next Legislative Council chairperson once Congress attains a majority.
