Pandavapura (Mandya dist): A scooter mechanic of Pandavapura town has become a multi-millionaire overnight, after winning a bumper prize of Rs 25 crore in the Kerala state lottery.

Altaf Pasha, a resident of Police Station Road, in the town, won the bumper prize. It is said that Pasha, who had visited Kerala recently, had purchased a lottery ticket for Rs 50. The draw for the lottery was held on October 9 and Altaf has won the bumper prize of Rs 25 crore.

Altaf runs a small garage on Mandya Road in Pandavapura.

It is said that Altaf will get approximately Rs 12.8 crore after several deductions including income tax. Kerala state sells lottery tickets every year, as part of Onam. 

Altaf and his family have left for Kerala to collect the prize money. “I was struggling to make ends meet. My dream of having a wedding for my daughter will be realised. I will use the money to buy a house and for the future of my children. I will repay the debts and live a peaceful life,” Altaf said.
