Kodagu bandh evokes poor response

Commercial establishments remained open during Kodagu Bandh in Somwarpet on Wednesday.

The Kodagu bandh call given by Hindu Suraksha Vedike, opposing the arrest of journalist Santhosh Thammaiah, evoked poor response in the district on Wednesday.

Incidentally, the bandh call was given only between 12 noon and 1 pm.

However, most of the commercial and business establishments remained open and vehicles too plied as usual.

In Somwarpet too, the commercial establishments remained open and did business as usual.

A DAR platoon was deployed at private bus stand to maintain law and order.
