Speaking to reporters, KPCC President G Parameshwara said: “The JD(S) leader makes allegations against people in the day and holds secret meeting with them in the night. Such a behaviour is not proper. What message will it send to people of the State” he questioned.
Bidari and Kumaraswamy held a secret meeting at the former's residence on Saturday, triggering a controversy. The meeting assumed significance as the CID had recently filed an FIR pertaining to the UKP project issue.
Subsequently, JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda had lambasted Bidari.
Allegations
The CID has been investigating into the allegations of irregularities in the piece works of UKP awarded in 1996, when Gowda was the chief minister. ‘How can one expect a fair investigation from Bidari? He (Bidari) himself has admitted that Kumaraswamy had sought an appointment with him for a meeting and that they discussed about the UKP case,” the KPCC president said.
However, Kumaraswamy denied having discussed about the UKP case with Bidari. “I have not discussed the UKP case with him (Bidari). We will fight the case legally. The media reports that I discussed the UKP case are false," he stated.
The JD(S) leader also defended his meeting saying he has every right to meet any official as a Member of Parliament.
