Congress leader and former minister Kumar Bangarappa hinted that he will join BJP soon. Speaking at a meeting of the party workers and his followers here on Wednesday, he said he will announce his next political step soon. He said the workers and his loyal followers are asking him to join BJP by quitting Congress.
“I would respect the emotions of my followers. But I have to think before taking any step as I have been associated with Congress party for the past several years believing in its ideals. So, quitting it and embracing another party is not an easy decision. Politics divided my family. I would announce my decision to join the BJP shortly after discussing it with my well wishers.”
He also alleged that there is no respect for loyal followers of Congress party in the Siddaramaiah government. “KPCC president G Parameshwara has failed to strengthen the party in the state. Veteran politicians like S M Krishna and Jaffer Sharief were ill-treated by the party. Though the issue was brought to the notice of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, nobody took any decision.”
