Lantana removed for clear visibility of animals, birds

There were complaints from tourists regarding poor visibility of the animals due to growth of the lantana on the safari route.

Following complaints, the Deputy Conservator of Forests Hanumanthappa took strong note of the same and got removed the lantana at least on the safari route.

The visitors are now happy as  they were able to see the wild animals clearly. The services of tribal youths were used for this purpose.

The DCF said another advantage of removal of the lantana has been checking the forest fire during summer. There were incidents of minor fire inside the forests following throwing of the burning cigarette butts by tourists.
