Lt General (Retd) B C Nanda was laid to rest in his farm in Kodagu on Thursday.
The final rites of Nanda who passed away on Wednesday following illness were performed as per Kodava tradition, along with state honours.
The mortal remains of B C Nanda were laid to rest at his residence on Thursday morning. His relatives, ex-servicemen and dignitaries from different fields paid tributes to the departed soul.
The Indian tricolour was draped over the body of Lt General (Retd) B C Nanda and was later taken to his farm at 3 pm.
Lt Col Dinesh Kumar and Col Belyappa paid their respects on the occasion.
The final rites were performed by Nanda’s daughter Devika, as per Kodava tradition.
A 21-gun salute was given while the body of the departed Lieutenant General was being cremated.
B C Nanda’s spouse Leela, Major General (Retd) S K Cariappa, Major General (Retd) K P Nanjappa, Major (Retd) B A Nanjappa, BJP leader M B Devaiah and former police commissioner Ajay Sood were present.
