A man who is a native of Surathkal has deserted his well-paid job at Sydney Airport for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sudheendra Hebbar, 41, is a great follower of Modi. An MBA degree-holder, Hebbar was serving as screening officer at the airport. He had taken leave from April 5 to 12 to visit his native place. The Lok Sabha election in Dakshina Kannada constituency will be held on April 18. As he could not extend his leave, Hebbar has resigned from his job.
Hebbar explained, “I had left for Australia after exercising my franchise on April 17, 2014. I wished to exercise my franchise this year as well. My name, however, had been deleted from the electoral list. Hence, I had visited my native place, availing of leave for 21 days in January to register my name in the voters’ list.”
Further, he said, “I had received leave between April 5 and 12. Owing to Easter and Ramzan, my leave was not extended. When my leave was not sanctioned, I sent my resignation letter. Had I asked for leave to exercise my franchise, I would have been granted leave, but I also wanted to be a part of the Vijayotsava after the election.”
Hebbar said, “It is not difficult to search for another job.”
Hebbar has been a part of the BJP’s campaign in Mangaluru. He has been engaged in publicity-related activities at the BJP election office as well. “Modi has increased the image of India across the world. I wish Modi to be re-elected as prime minister of India,” he said.
Hebbar’s wife is a resident of Fiji.
