Navaratri Utsav and Mangaluru Dasara will be held at Kudroli Gokarnanath Temple from October 10 to 20.
The temple is getting ready for the festivity with a new coat of paint and lights. Speaking to reporters, the temple administrative committee treasurer Padmaraj R said that the celebrations would begin with the installation of Navadurga and the statue of Sharada at 11.50 am by Karnataka Bank MD and CEO Mahabaleshwara.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the Mangaluru Dasara on October 14 at 6 pm. Former union minister Janardhan Poojary will preside. District in-charge Minister U T Khader, Leader of Opposition in Council Kota Srinivas Poojary, Billava Mahamandala President Jaya C Suvarna, Rajya Sabha member B K Hariprasad, MLCs S L Bhoje Gowda, Harish Kumar, MLA Vedavyasa Kamath and others will take part.
The grand procession of Sharada which marks the culmination of Mangaluru Dasara will be held on October 19 at 4 pm. The procession will pass through Mannagudde-Ladyhill-Lalbagh-Ballalbagh-PVS Circle-Navabharath Circle-Hampankatte-GHS road-Venkatramana Temple-Carstreet-Alake before reaching the temple lake for immersion.
More than 75 tableaux and folk troupes will be part of the processions. The shobhayatre will be held under the guidance of Bengaluru Billava Association President Vedakumar and temple committee members.
