Kundapur division DCF Prabhakaran said that measures will be taken to provide facilities and attract people to the Salumarada Thimmakka Tree Park, at Badagabettu in Udupi.
Speaking at a meeting, he said that a canteen will be started for the visitors. A separate bank account will be opened to deposit the entry fee collected, and the amount collected will be utilised to develop the Tree Park further.
Information about different species of trees planted in the Tree Park will be provided for the visitors to read.
The tree park will be open for public from 10 am to 6.30 pm. The entry fee is Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children. A sum of Rs 50,000 is collected from entry fee in a month. In the last three months, a sum of Rs 1.60 lakh has been collected, said Tree Park Maintenance Committee Member Secretary and Udupi Range Forest Officer (RFO) Clifford Lobo.
