Filing their objections in the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday petitioners V S Lad and others said the government misled the court by giving unsubstantiated figures of profit by the exporters. Rebutting the claim that the mining industries earned Rs 60,000 crore in 2007-08, they argued their totoal revenue was Rs 23,400 crore. They claimed that their revenue was Rs 21,375 in 2008 and the profit cannot exceed revenue. They said the ban hurt the industry.
