Transport Minister R Ashok said that mining barons of Bellary were not alone responsible for the installation of BJP government in the State, but it was due to hard work of B S Yeddyurappa and thousands of party workers.

Speaking to reporters in Srirangapatna he said there was no role of individuals in the formation of BJP Government in the State as rank and file of the party strove hard. “Like the mining barons, I too played a key role in bringing Venkataramanappa and D Sudhakar into the BJP fold and I coined the term ‘Operation Kamala’. Under these circumstances it is not possible to say that the BJP came to power because of a few individuals”.

Blaming the media for making a big issue of the Reddys’ absence for ‘Vikasa Sankalpa Utsava’, he said that there was no need to give special importance for it. It was blatant lie that Chief Minister Yeddyurappa has appointed spies to monitor the movements of important leaders, he said. Speaking after inaugurating a KSRTC bus depot in Mysore Ashok said that the party did not have any plans to appoint a deputy CM. “We have won the elections with Yeddyurappa as our leader. Hence there is no question of appointing a Deputy, even if Reddy brothers demand,” he added.

‘Personal problem’

In Athani, Co-operation Minister Lakshman Savadi has stated that the 'problems' between Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Energy Minister K S Eshwarappa were personal. Both the leaders would resolve their problems through dialogue.

He told reporters here on Wednesday, “All families have internal differences, and our party too was not different from them. There was no need to give much importance to these developments.”
