Mysuru: RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna has challenged Congress leader and KPCC spokesman M Lakshmana to prove that the voice in the video, showing a document on which whitener is supposed to be smeared is his.
On the basis of Krishna’s petition, the Lokayukta Police had filed an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members on September 27, in the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam.
Krishna has challenged Lakshmana as he said, "If Lakshmana has the courage, let him obtain a report from the Forensic Science Laboratory, identifying whose voice is in the recently released video on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's X account”.
In a post on his social media account, Krishna said, “If the report states that the voice in the video is mine, I will stop my fight in the alleged MUDA scam. Will you retire from politics, if the report reveals that the voice is yours?”
It can be noted that Krishna and Lakshmana are involved in a verbal and legal duel over the past couple of months. While Krishna is raking up the alleged MUDA scam almost every day, which is being investigated by the Lokayukta Police and also Enforcement Directorate, Lakshmana is accusing Krishna on various fronts, in defence of Siddaramaiah.
On Tuesday, Lakshmana had filed a police complaint, at Devaraja Police Station, in Mysuru, demanding legal action against Krishna, for making false allegations against Siddaramaiah, in the alleged scam.
The complaint reads: “Krishna has made a false claim that the MUDA Tahsildar himself has paid the stamp duty for the registration of sites, for B M Parvathi, Siddaramaiah’s wife. In cases where the site owners do not appear at the sub-registrar's office, getting exemption from appearance, the names of MUDA officials are recorded in the Cauvery software, instead of the buyers. Krishna has concealed these facts, to portray Siddaramaiah as a villain. Thus legal action should be taken against Krishna”.
In retaliation to Lakshmana’s complaint, Krishna has posted the challenge on his social media account.
